Greenhouse Construction

This view along the top of the greenhouse truss system illustrates the necessary engineering to design a roof system that will support a snow load of 18 inches. The aluminum roof assembly attaches to the edge of the gutters so that condensation from the glass panels and aluminum supports will flow onto the lower gutter wall and be collected by a triangular aluminum gutter located just under the gutter. This prevents drips on plant material in the greenhouse from the roof or gutter. Greenhouses in the Netherlands do not need such heavy materials because it was reported the local area does not receive large snow storms.
