Maryland Enterprise Zones offer attractive locational alternatives for industrial and commercial businesses that are new or expanding. Advantages of a Maryland enterprise zone location include:
- Property tax credits -- Five year 80% exemption on the value of real property improvements; phases out over the next five years.
- Corporate Income tax credits -- One to three year credit for each employee hired in the zone.
- Access to a state loan guarantee fund, and
- Special provisions for industrial loans.
- Job Creation Tax Credit -- $1,500 state corporate income tax credit for each employee hired in the zone.
